Two firsts today since I started #cycling back in 2014.
- I did a short ride this evening (from 6:30 to 8PM), at this time of year it means I got back after daylight. Used front and rear DEL lights. Loved it! - I didn't wear lycra, just plain regular clothes! 😀
It was a test run. I have an early appointment at the hospital tomorrow morning, then I need to go to the office. If I can get up early enough tomorrow, I plan on leaving my car in the driveway!
I've always worn bike apparel when #commuting, but it's a hassle to change back to regular clothes at the office - and it's lost time. I figure it's cool enough now (will be 12° C/54F tomorrow!) that I shouldn't sweat too much. In any case I'll mostly be in the workshop rather than in the office. And with social distancing, coworkers shouldn't notice. 😁
Good decision. I love being dressed as a civilian on the bicycle. I'm not doing the Tour the France anyway. For longer rides I have jeans that are seamless on the butt and padded underwear which I can recommend.

We're so glad to hear that @doctorow is choosing not to put his new book on Audible, which mandates the use of onerous DRM on all of its audiobooks. We look forward to checking it out in a DRM-free format!
Join us today from 13:00 to 14:00 EDT in the Freenode IRC channel #libreplanet for help on submitting your session for #LibrePlanet 2021! We'll be available to help with proposals every Tuesday until October 28th.
Felicity doesn't talk much about Partridge apart from the fact that Steve Coogan and Armando Iannucci were 'absolute and bloody perfectionists'.
For example, she would get the script, learn it and then when they had a read-through or even filmed it, they would constantly pick holes (not necessarily in her acting or delivery) - just constantly looking to make it better and funnier.
There are cases in history of national leaders being coerced into treaties. Yet only Boris Johnson claims to have signed an international agreement by mistake.
In the prime minister’s telling, the UK was bamboozled into a substandard Brexit deal last year. Events were moving “at pace”; the politics were “challenging”; European rules were smuggled into the small print. So parliament must pass a law disagreeing with the agreement. To fix the deal, the deal must be broken.
When did Johnson notice his mistake? He cannot answer the question without identifying himself as a fool or a crook. Either he failed to understand a text that he signed or he knew he was beaten by Brussels and mis-sold the defeat as victory in a general election.
The misses has bought some very tight black trousers and after parading around in an assortment of thin jumpers she has also bought she put her black tee shirt back on and I thought "Fook me it's Olivia Newton-John from that scene in Grease!"
Not far off 40 years experience of women has taught me to keep my mouth shut.

except we don't all know it, and that's the problem. Of course, the 'knee' thing isn't going to solve anything, but the Prem and footballers do have a lot of power and influence in various ways, which has been notable this year in particular.
dangit! I had a beautiful reply and I exceeded the character limit! GRRR! I still use RSS. No ads, I can control the lunacy of the online world and, unlike most social media, I can tune out the stuff I am not really interested in.
Shorter than the original and less angsty but more to the point I guess.
